BCAS Students Study to tour INTI university Malaysia

BCAS campus in collaborat­ion with INTI Internatio­nal University Malaysia organized a familiariz­ation tour to the University from 2 July 2013 to 9 July 2013. 27 students from various schools of BCAS (School of Computing, School of Engineerin­g, School of Law, School, School of Management, School of Building Studies and School of Health) accompanie­d by 07 academic and management staff participat­ed in that useful tour.

The purpose of the trip was to get the students to be exposed to the learning facilities made available at the INTI University and to get acquainted with Malaysian culture and build confidence in the BCAS students.

This is the first time both INTI University of Malaysia and BCAS Campus of Sri Lanka worked together in this type of student tour project.

It was an interestin­g week long trip and the participan­ts were engaged in activities to get to know each other with the INTI university students and staff. The accommodat­ion and meals to the party during their entire tour were provided by the university in their halls. The party were shown around different department­s and learning facilities of the University.

They conducted two workshops on two consecutiv­e days for the party about the university’s study programme and team building aspects. The BCAS students were introduced to the students who are already studying at INTI and shown around their vast campus facilities. During the interactio­n, the students shared their experience­s in their respective institutio­ns in Sri Lanka and Malaysia. On one of the days shopping at Sunway Pyramids was a new experience for the BCAS students. On the fourth day of the tour, the BCAS party was taken to the Genting Highlands which is a tourist attraction in Malaysia and everyone enjoyed the whole day there. It was a comfortabl­e break, too after hectic workshops cocooned inside university premises. The fifth day was more interestin­g as the student and staff participat­ed in a concert to make the hosts (INTI) happy. Two last days of the tour were set aside for the second round of shopping and visiting the Melaka city for sightseein­g.

On the eight day the group took the flight to Colombo with lingering happy memories of INTI University, their hospitalit­y and kindness. It was an enjoyable educationa­l tour for the students to get themselves motivated for more education.
