Melody of ‘Butterfly Symphony’

Jayantha Chandrasir­i’s newest film “Samanala Sandhawani­ya’ (Butterfly Symphony) a story revolving around an extremely talented musician and his disturbed past will soon be released at EAP circuit cinemas around the country.

Starring Yashoda Wimaladhar­ma, Uddika Premarathn­e, Pubudu Chathurang­he, Sooryaloka Dayaruwan, Damitha Aberathna, Wilson Gunaratna, Chathurika Peris, Buddhadasa Vithanarac­hchi, Roger Seneviratn­a and Rebbeca Nirmali, the movie an enthrallin­g musical is the second cinematic venture of Chandrasir­i who made his entry with multi-awarded ‘Agnidahaya’ (Fie and Water).

The film narrates around Vadeesha Devaminda, a highly creative and sensitive young music student and his journey to adulthood. A special love letter that he finds accidently written by Punya, a woman, more mature than him in both age and life, motivates him for some soul searching. He is haunted by the guilt as he is unable to deliver the letter to whom it was addressed. His relentless efforts to return the letter to the woman or to her lover fail. His affect his entire life.

Produced by Ruwan Jayansingh­e and Palitha Gunawardha­na, the script of ‘Samanala Sandhawani­ya’ is scripted by Jayantha and camera by Ruwan Costa, music Darshana Ruwan Disanayaka, editor Ravindra Guruge and make up by Vasantha Vittachchi.
