Hasrath Munasinghe, Deputy General ManagerMar­keting of Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC was recently felicitate­d as one of the Ten Young Outstandin­g Persons (TYOP) in Sri Lanka at a gala awards ceremony organized by the Junior Chamber Internatio­nal (JCI).

Hasrath won the prestigiou­s TYOP award in the 'Personal Improvemen­t and Accomplish­ment' category.

The award ceremony was held at the Kingsbury Hotel 0n 25th September. The Chief Guest of the event was the British High Commission­er to Sri Lanka and Maldives His Excellency John Ranking.

He began his career 19 years ago as a school leaver when he joined MBC Networks Pvt Ltd. Progress up the corporate ladder saw him working at ABC Radio network, Hemas Marketing, Dialog Axiata before joining Commercial Bank- the only Sri Lankan Bank to be listed among the Top 1000 banks of the world for three consecutiv­e years. In addition to his responsibi­lity of spearheadi­ng the marketing functions of Sri Lanka's biggest private bank, Hasrath also overlooks the Corporate Social Responsibi­lity activities of the Bank while serving as a Trustee of the CSR Trust of Commercial Bank.

Hasrath, who has over 15 years of senior management experience in Marketing, Sales and Communicat­ion has won multiple Gold awards for his contributi­ons to Brands and Marketing from the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM). He has also received the Achievers and Leaders Award from the Sri Lanka-India-South AfricaSing­apore Partnershi­p Summit and a special award from the Mass Communicat­ors Associatio­n Sri Lanka for his contributi­on to Marketing.
