MAS to Power South Asia Fashion Week launch at SLDF 2013

MAS Holdings, the visionary apparel and fashion manufactur­er has stepped up to take the challenge to drive Sri Lanka as the nexus for South Asian Fashion with a global appeal by joining hands with the Sri Lanka Design Festival (SLDF). SLDF that has grown in the last 5 years to be a national agenda event with key apparel and government export partners driving the propositio­n of Design as the next big industry for Sri Lanka. Given the momentum that SLDF has garnered in Sri Lanka by this 2013 edition, the event took the high ground of launching the South Asian Edition which is a runner up to the most significan­t event in the country of CHOGM.

Given this background of Sri Lanka moving to be a country that fosters Design excellence, the billion dollar blue chip MAS Holdings has ventured out to support SLDF by powering the staging of the 'South Asian Fashion Week'.The event scheduled for 2014 along the lines of London and Paris Fashion Weeks that are multi-billion dollar brands in today's world of trade and economics, South Asian Fashion Week validates Sri Lanka's potential to be the global player from the region.

With South Asian Fashion Week, Sri Lanka steps up to become the nucleus for contempora­ry South Asian Fashion with internatio­nal appeal while providing a platform for all cutting-edge fashion designers in South Asia and a place for global customers from Europe, USA to fashion consumers of East Asia to emerging markets. South Asian Fashion Week promises to present a unique showcase of the most sophistica­ted fashion from the region upon its premiere in 2014 and will be launched at SLDF 2013 this October.
