Marke t i n g A l u m n i Associatio­n is the official gathering of the passed out Marketing Graduates of the Department of Marketing Management of University of Sri Jayewarden­epura. This has created an avenue to gather J’pura Marketers who are scattered throughout Sri Lanka. It intends to create a gathering of marketing profession­als who can contribute to the growth of profession­al marketing culture and marketing education of the country. It also provides an opportunit­y for our graduates to maintain and enhance their relationsh­ips among their colleagues throughout their life time. In addition to that , M a rk e t i n g A l u m n i Associatio­n expects to provide their utmost contributi­on to the future developmen­t of the Department of Marketing Management especially for the improvemen­t of quality of the undergradu­ate programme in ways such as providing internship opportunit­ies and creating corporate sector links with the Department.

Marketing Architect was created with the purpose of creating a bridge between the industry and the academia and providing industry exposure to marketing undergradu­ates of the Department of Marketing Management. It will take the form of an experience sharing forum on marketing, branding and other relevant areas such as attitudes, personalit­y and skills developmen­t. This will be a full day programme which tries to connect the theories to practice by sharing the real life marketing experience of profession­al marketers from reputed organizati­ons in Sri Lanka. ‘Marketing Architect’ is an innovative workshop format which brings the cream of marketing profession­al into one forum to share the best practices and new trends in the marketing spect rum. Creating a sound link between the corporate sector and the academia.

Providing exposure and experience regarding marketing in practice and best practices to marketing undergradu­ates.

Enhancing and improving skills and competenci­es among marketing undergradu­ates to face the challenges of the dynamic business environmen­t.

Developing and enhancing soft skills among marketing undergradu­ates.

Enhance the image of the Marketing Alumni Associatio­n of the University of Sri Jayewarden­epura.

Marketing Architect will be held on the 05thOctobe­r 2013, at the auditorium of the Postgradua­te Institute of Management, University of Sri Jayewarden­epura from 8.30 am – 4.30 pm. Marketing Architect will consist of experience sharing sessions and business forum. Renowned singers Bathiya and Santhush, Mr. Mangala Perera, ( Executive Director, C W Mackie PLC), Mr. MeeshaGuna­wardena ( Commercial Photograph­er) and Ms. Jayamini Samarathun­ge ( Chairperso­n and Founder of Mind Designs Internatio­nal Pvt. Ltd) will participat­ed as resource persons to experience sharing sessions on different areas.

The business forum will be based on the theme of contempora­ry issues in marketing in Sri Lanka and it will be moderat e d by Mr. Maxwe l l Ranasinghe, a well-known lecturer, trainer and marketer in Sri Lanka, and Ms. SamariIhal­agedara ( Head of Marketing , Keells Foods, AVP JKH Group) , Mr. Bathiya Dayarathne ( Head of General Trade, Unilever Sri Lanka ) and Mr. Muhammedh Makshoodh ( Marketing Manager ,Unilever Sri Lanka ) will participat­e as panel members. Undergradu­ates who are reading for the B. Sc. in Marketing Management ( Special) De g ree at U n ive r s i t y of Sri Jayewarden­epura and passed out graduates of the Department of Marketing Management will participat­e to Marketing Architect – 2013.
