SL Qualification Framework to ensure local Degrees meet international standards
Australia is to submit a report by the beginning of next month on how Sri Lanka could implement the Sri Lanka Qualifications Framework (SLQF) to ensure that standards of educational qualifications gained from local higher educational institutes meet with those of the SLQF.
Higher Education Ministry Secretary, Dr Sunil Jayantha Nawaratne told Education Times that, based on the report, the ministry will initiate the implementation of the SLQF as a national policy, which will ensure that educational qualifications gained by our students have proper quality. “The report will be based on the findings of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Council experts’, following their visit to Sri Lanka. They will guide and provide us with professional advice and recommendations so that the SLQF will be ready for implementation,” Dr Nawaratne said.
