Wesley College Quiz Competition‘’Maestro 2013’’ to take place on Tuesday

The Commerce Union of Wesley College proudly presents ‘’Maestro 2013’’ the biggest and most competitive commerce day and quiz competition to be held at the college main hall on the 8th of October from 2.15 pm onwards. This event hopes to attract over 400 students from over 40 schools island wide. The head of commerce and arts of Wesley College, Mr. Dilshan Perera who is a well renowned accounting lecturer has been the back bone of the commerce union helping and motivating the students to build up their leadership skills to organize an event of this magnitude since its inception in 1997. The executive committee is headed by Malin Rodrigo who is a young dynamic leader at Wesley College who is very keen in bringing about a change as he takes up the effort to organize the 16th session of this annual event. The Principal Dr. Shanti McLelland and all staff advisors show a great interest in this event every year as this acts as a platform for students to not only compete and learn but also to build character. The theme for this year’s conference is quite unique however a very powerful topic. The idea of the theme ‘A billionaires economy’ is to enlighten the young generation on how billionaires control the global economy, Billionaires products influence your life in thousands of ways–from the Nikes on your feet to the iPhone buzzing in your pocket.
