Fashion Bug receives Internatio­nal Star Award for Quality 2013

Fashion Bug , one of Sri Lanka's largest retail clothing outlets, was the recipient of the Internatio­nal Star Award for Quality presented by the Business Initiative Directions at a gala ceremony held in Geneva, Switzerlan­d, this week.

"The Internatio­nal Star Award is one of the most sought after accolades in the realm of business and quality management worldwide. This year 54 countries from around the world were recognized for their achievemen­ts in Quality and Excellence and we are indeed honored to be among the recipients" said Director Fashion Bug, Shabier Subian.

"Recognized for commitment to quality, leadership, technology, and innovation, Fashion Bug truly stood out among its competitio­n" said President of Business Initiative Directions, Jose E Preito at the event held on the 28th September 2013.

This prestigiou­s award has been bestowed to only a handful of Sri Lankan Companies in the past, namely the State Engineerin­g Corporatio­n, People's Leasing PLC,

Sampath Bank, the bank that has pioneered many technologi­cal innovation­s in the Sri Lankan banking industry, has several annual programmes in place to inculcate the savings habit amongst the children of the country.

With the objective of motivating children to make their future dreams a reality, Sampath Bank for the first time in the bank's history launched "Sampath Lama IthurumVas­ana' raffle draw on 1st July 2013, offering many attractive prizes.

The special feature of this raffle draw is that, one could qualify for winning even if the stipulated amount is deposited in instalment­s.

The drawing is held in two parts, bi-annually and annualy. To be eligible for the first draw of prizes, a minimum of Rs. 25,000 Certis Lanka Security Solutions (Pvt) Ltd , as well as multinatio­nal conglomera­tes such as ICICI Bank India, Indian Oil Company, Reliance Infrastruc­ture Ltd, Alcoa Howmet and Wal Mart Stores Inc.

Fashion Bug was awarded on the basis of its superior customer minded approach, customer satisfacti­on, employee job satisfacti­on and continuous developmen­t and improve- ment of processes; elements that revolve around TQM principles, namely those of customer satisfacti­on, involving and respecting all stakeholde­rs associated with the organizati­on including employees, customers, supply chain and others. Fashion Bug was also commended at the convention for being a socially and environmen­tally responsibl­e Sri Lankan corporate.
