CMA Sri Lanka signs MOU with John Keells Holdings PLC as an Accredited Practical Training Partner
The Institute of Certified Management Accountants ( CMA) of Sri Lanka the National Professional Management Accounting Institution in Sri Lanka incorporated by parliament Act No.23 of 2009 signed an MOU with John Keells Holdings PLC, Sri Lanka’s largest listed company on t he Colombo Stock Exchange, with business interests primarily in Transportation, Leisure, Property, Consumer Foods & Retail, Financial Services and Information Technology.
This MOU will provide CMA students an opportunity to obtain practical training in management accounting and financial accounting with exposure in the Business Management which is necessary to complete prior to obtaining associate membership ACMA.
The CMA practical experience component is an essential part of the CMA programme and has been developed in accordance with the International Standards of the International Federation of Accountants ( IFAC), the world body for Professional Accountants operating to meet the growing demands of competitive organizations at both national and international levels.
The MOU was signed by Professor Lakshman R. Watawala, President CMA, Mr L B Wattegedara Executive Director CMA with Mr Ronnie Peiris - Group Finance Director, John Keells Holdings and Ms Dilani Alagaratnam - President - Group HR, Legal & Secretarial, John Keells Holdings.
