Woodlands Montesoori & Teacher Training Center ties up with NZTC

Woodlands Training Centre for the Montessori method of education in association with the New Zealand Tertiary College [ NZTC] would extend “the Certificate and Bachelor Pro grammes in Early Childhood Education” in Sri Lanka with the view of training teachers.

The New Zealand Tertiary College (NZTC) of which the main campus is located in Auckland is the largest and oldest privately owned tertiary education provider which specializes in Early Childhood Teacher Education for the past 30 years.

Sri Lanka’s premier and long established early childhood education centre and the teacher training diploma course at Woodlands for preschool and primary school education has been evaluated to obtain 32 credits for a Bachelor of Teaching in Preschool Education.

Mrs., Sharmini de Zylva the General Directress of Woodlands Training Center which was established in 1969 a is a pioneer in the field of early childhood education in Sri Lanka stated that she is extremely pleased to be associated with the NZTC programs with a view towards enhancing the knowledge and scope for those who are interested in this sector.

The New Zealand Tertiary College was founded in 1982 by Kindercare Learning Centres and maintains a high quality in early childhood care and education. The NZTC have gained the NEW ZEALAND QUALIFICATIONS AUTHORITY (NZQA). During a period of 30 years the NZTC has continued as a national leader through its high commitment and quality in early childhood education and teacher education programmes that reflect the ever growing needs of the sector. In view of recognition of its programs NZTC qualification is not only recognized in New Zealand but also in Australia by the AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL OFFICE OF OV E R S E A S SKILLS RECOGNITION (NOOSR) and in the United States of America by the FOREIGN CREDENTIALS SERVICE OF AMERICA (FCSA).

NZTC programmes range from entry level certificate programs to bachelor, graduate diploma and masters level qualifications delivered by cost effective distance learning online mode to students overseas including Sri Lankan with carefully selected field practice centers one of which is Woodlands Montessori in Sri Lankan.
