Internationally Recognised Degree Pathway at HRMI

-

Human Resource Management Institute (HRMI) provides a seamless step- bystep pathway to enable students to pursue a Degree in Management or HR and obtain training and employment, all under one roof. It is great relief for Parents as well as children that internationally recognised HR and Management courses are now conducted by HRMI with World’s Number 1 Brand Name in Education – Pearson Edexcel.

Students have the privilege of starting on the courses after sitting the A/L exams irrespective of the stream of studies they have followed; be it Commerce, Bio, Maths or Arts.. The globally recognised UK Edexcel BTEC Higher National Diploma in Management or HRM, the 2 year course of studies is an ideal starting point in the pathway to Bachelors and Masters Degree qualifications. The entire course of studies can be completed in Sri Lanka or in UK. For those interested in completing their studies abroad, Edexcel qualifications are recognised by a large majority of universities in UK, Australia, Canada, USA and elsewhere in the world.

Apart from the Higher National Diploma course which leads to a Bachelors Degree and a Masters, HRMI also conducts a variety of professional programmes for those interested in shorterduration courses. The Level 1 - Certificate in HRM is a 3 month course for school leavers with O/L’s to embark on a HR career and gradually progress on to higher levels. The Level 2 - Executive Certificate is a 4 ½ months comprehensive course which is a popular option amongst those employed as it provides an indepth coverage to learn the role of the HR function in an organisation. The Level 3 -Executive Diploma is designed for graduates and those with working experience.

The unique feature in HRMI courses of study is the opportunity every student has in undergoing a 6-month internship training attached to a HR Department in a leading company. During these 6 months, students go through a systematic training in many aspects of HR Management which enables them to relate the learning to real life practices. Besides, this training becomes extremely important in students securing employment as merely following a course is deemed inadequate to secure a job in today’s competitive job market.

HRMI faculty comprises of a team of outstanding young academics and some of the best known senior management professionals in the country. The practicing managers have been with Sri Lanka’s best known companies including John Keells, Aitken Spence, Hayleys, MAS, Hemas, Unilever, GlaxoSmithKline, Commercial Bank and Standard Chartered Bank to name a few. These professionals contribute the experiences and insights the young students need to fulfill the requirements of HND assignments. In addition, every student will have an assigned Academic Instructor who will provide assistance and personalized coaching. The details of the faculty are available at www.hrmi.lk.
