Rs 76b for Education, Higher Education and Education Services in Appropriation Bill 2014

Appropriation Bill 2014 allocates around Rs 76 billon next year for the Ministries of Education, Higher Education and Education Services, an increase of Rs 11 billion from 2013.

Rs 38.84 billion for the Education Ministry, a marginal increase from Rs 37.92 billion allocated in 2013.

Rs 29.5 billion for the Higher Education Ministry, an increase from Rs 27.9 billion allocated in 2013.

Rs 7.68 billion for the newly created Education Services Ministry set up in January 2013, with Duminda Dissanayake as the Minister.
