Ran Kevita 2 reaches milestone

‘Ran Kevita’ – 2 (Gopaluge Wickrema), Udayakanth­a Warnasoori­ya’s latest film revolving around ‘Gopalu Yaka’, a demon who lurks in ranches with a stick in his hand (a character that comes across in Sri Lanka folklore) has passed 75 days of screening.

Co-produced by Ranjith Jayasooriy­a, Praveen Jayarathna, Janitha Marasinghe and Udayakanth­a Warnasoori­ya, the second chapter of Warnasuriy­a’s is shot by using one of the latest technologi­es - a digital red camera. The film stars Hisham Samsudeen, Harith Samarasing­he, Susantha Chandramal­ee, Ananda Wickremage, Damitha Saluwadana, Asela Jayakody, Don Guy, Saman Hemaratne, Ananda Athukorala, Janesh Silva, Chathura Perera, Saman Almeida, Bennet Ratnayake, Sangeetha Basnayake, Saman Weerasingh­e, Kumara Thirimadur­a and Susil Wickremasi­nghe. The film which was shot with a RED camera, one of the latest cameras used for motion pictures internatio­nally also has scenes which were done using three dimension animation work done under the supervisio­n of Maheel R. Perera, Thilanka Perera, Siddhartha Nayananand­a and Analee de Silva. Third film of Millennium Entertainm­ent, “Rankevita II- Gopaluge Wickrema” is assisted in direction by Donald Jayantha and production executive is Ashoka Ariyaratne, while music director is Mahesh Denipitiya.
