Malaysia offers wide choice of courses and specializations

-

Over the years life in general has become very complex and complicated. This phenomenon applies to education as well. In the past the number of courses available for students was very few. Today the study of courses and specialization within a course is a study in itself. To meet the complexities and needs of the global village education subject matter had to be broadened. To be competitive a deeper and very specialized understanding of the subject is required.

For an example, today there are more the 25 disciplines of Engineering. The same can be said of Health Sciences, Commerce and Law. New subject areas such as I n f o r mat i o n Te c h n o l o g y and Environmental Science have emerged. In the global village there is a demand for professionals in the new fields of study as well as very specialist practitioners within the field of study. Not many countries cater to demands from all areas of study.

Outside of the traditional education providers, Malaysia is one destination where students are offered a wide selection of choices in courses and specializations to meet the present day needs. The other main attraction of choosing Malaysia is the cost of studying. It is a fraction of the cost of studies in the more traditional destinations.

Some of the new study streams for which courses are offered in Malaysia – Performing Arts, Communications, Psychology, Optometry, Medical Laboratory Technology, Biomedical Sciences, Medical Imaging, Forensic Science, Environmental Health, Environmental Science, Geometric Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering. Most education providers have twining arrangements with universities in Australia, UK, USA and Canada.

In Malaysia students can get a world class education at an affordable price. Malaysia is home to campuses of some of the world’s top ranked universities. The cost of studying at these top ranked universities with campuses in Malaysia is less than 50% of the cost of studying at the main campus of a top ranked university. There is no compromise in the quality of delivery since these campuses are managed and run by the parent university’s administrators and senior academics. Students in a branch campus have the opportunity to transfer to the main campus if the transfer criteria are met. Students reading for degrees in disciplines such Medicine and Engineering have opportunity to register with the professional bodies of more developed countries without having to undertake further studies.
