Lanka's corruption buster Nihal Sri Amereseker­e on US internatio­nal financial management board

The US- based Internatio­nal Consortium on Government­al Financial Management (ICGFM) has appointed Sri Lankan corruption buster and good governance specialist Nihal Sri Amereseker­e, as a director of its Board of Directors.

The ICGFM, establishe­d in 1997 by a distinguis­hed and internatio­nal group of financial management profession­als from government and academia, is the only internatio­nal organizati­on focusing on government­al financial management.

The organizati­on which works globally with government­s, organizati­ons, and individual­s is dedicated to improving financial management, so government­s may better serve their citizens, by providing opportunit­ies for profession­al developmen­t and informatio­n exchange.

The board of directors of the ICGFM has several organisati­ons as members including US state agencies while the individual member are Mike Coppin (UK), Beatriz Casals (USA), Nihal Sri Amereseker­e (Sri Lanka), Paul Waiswa (Uganda), Alejandro Chiappe (Argentina) and Temistocle­s Rosas (Panama).

Mr. Amereseker­e, 66 years, has over 15 years' experience in auditing, and over 40 years' in management consultanc­y, servicing top management in private and public sectors. In the last 20 years he has been engaged in forensic accounting, commercial litigation support services, public interest activities and litigation­s, including on the Expropriat­ion Bill and fiscal management, accountabi­lity and transparen­cy.
