IPM launches an internship programme for its students

-

Education only cannot make a qualified professional. Education followed by hands on experience to learn what one has studied is the best means for an educational institute to release totally qualified professionals to the industry. This is the very reason for the Institute of Personnel Management Sri Lanka (IPM), the nation’s leader in HRM to take initiatives to launch an internship programme for IPM students.

The initiative is in sync with Building HR Capability in Sri Lanka, which is a dire need in today’s context. Further this programme will provide opportunities for IPM Students to undergo a rigorous internship in Sri Lanka’s top multinational companies and local blue-chip organizations, exposing students to the practical aspects of key areas in Human Resource Management and Development.

Practical aspects of HR strategy development, Recruitment procedure and selection tools, Managing performance o f Human Cap i t a l , Reward philosophy and structures, Managing talents in changing business environments, Organization Development activities with Change platforms, Employee engagement strategies with activities and HR back end operations are some of the key functions that the interns can experience during their six months internship programme.

Selection of the interns will be done through a screening process in consultation with respective organizations. All interns will be given a mentor and an internship certificate will be issued for all selected candidates. Opportunities will be granted for talented IPM students who have completed PQHRM stage II. Students who have competed stage II can apply on or before 15thJanuary to secure their place. CVs can be sent to dsathula@ ipmlk. org.
