Value of studying overseas at Tertiary level – Edlocate reasons out

-

Students can obtain a tertiary level qualification in Sri Lanka through a state university or by following a course provided by a foreign university, in the island. However all these degree courses are purely academic with no exposure to the “real working world”. Even if a university desires to develop the courses in collaboration with related industry or professions, there is little possibility to do so due to many limitations. The biggest hurdle is the lack of international businesses in Sri Lanka looking to recruit high achieving students through the university system. Furthermore the bigger Sri Lankan businesses or even the state sector institutions are still not used to working closely with the universities and higher educational institutions for their manpower requirements.

In many developed countries large businesses and state sector institutions are relying on universities for their personnel requirements at skilled and professional levels. Those businesses located in close proximity to universities work closely together especially in research projects. The better universities continuously seek research projects and grants. Recognised businesses in developed countries arrange regular open days at universities to identify and attract high achievers even before they complete the studies.

Good highly ranked universities offer excellent opportunities to study in similar ranked universities in other parts of the world too through Student Exchange Programs giving further opportunities to broaden their horizons.

With countries like Australia and New Zealand offering international students “post study work visa” in order to get related work experience, students are able not only to get work related academic qualifications but be able to test their capabilities at the actual work place.

These are the biggest assets gained by those opting for study abroad options. They are in demand when they return to Sri Lanka or could even work overseas as they are highly sought after.

Edlocate offers a good cross section of universities to study in Australia and New Zealand.

There are pathways to studies in these countries through part studying in Malaysian universities we represent. Even though post study work options are not available in UK, Malaysia and Singapore the courses offered at tertiary level in universities represented by Edlocate, would still produce outstanding students who could hold responsibilities at the actual work place and be successful.

The decision to study overseas involves many “Ifs & BUTs”. The common notion is that you need to be “Super Rich” to study overseas. Some think that the end result is not worth the money spent on such education.

Though these may be valid concerns it is always better to have a “no commitment” consultation with an expert education counsellor. This is where you should seek the assistance of Edlocate. With almost 14 years of unblemished experience of handing thousands of genuine students on study abroad programs, we have the expertise to guide genuine students to study overseas. We will show how this end result could be possibly achieved and the money spent could be recouped once the student completes the studies if the financial constrains are a prime concern. We will help to obtain scholarships for high achievers and provide pathway programs where necessary.
