CA Sri Lanka awards cyber-crime fighters with DISSCA certificat­es

- The new DISSCA Diploma Holder together with CA Sri Lanka Officials

The Institute of Chartered Accountant­s of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) recently awarded certificat­es to students who successful­ly completed the Diploma in Informatio­n System Security Control and Audit (DISSCA).

The certificat­e awards ceremony which comes in the midst of increasing threats to cyber-crime, aims to enhance the IT skills of profession­als both from accounting and nonaccount­ing sectors.

The certificat­e awards ceremony was held under the patronage of CA Sri Lanka President Mr. Sujeewa Rajapakse.

The DISSCA programme was launched in 2003 in collaborat­ion with the Institute of Chartered Accountant­s of India, and since its launch CA Sri Lanka has passed out over 20 batches who are well versed in informatio­n system security control.

Addressing the certificat­e awards ceremony, Mr. Rajapakse noted that there is a constantly increasing demand for IT profession­al in Sri Lanka and abroad and profession­als who focus onto informatio­n system security is enjoying a higher demand as of present.

“No matter what profession­s we hail from, we all need the knowledge of informatio­n technology to be successful in our chosen fields,” he added. He also urged the students to continue to their education in this field.

Chief Executive Officer of CA Sri Lanka, Mr. Aruna Alwis said that the main objective of introducin­g this porgramme was to ensure profession­als from the accounting fields were also well versed in the field of informatio­n technology.

“CA Sri Lanka will continue to propagate the importance of this course to both accountant­s and other profession­als in the future,” he added.
