Personality Development, Public Speaking and Presentation Skills
The Rainbow Institute of Communication and English is currently enrolling participants for an intensive training programme on personality development, public speaking and presentation skills. The programme will commence on Saturday 11, January, 2014, at the Rainbow Institute, at No 44, Haig Road, Bambalapitiya.
Through this programme, participants will develop their capacity to develop critical imagination, brainstorm, listen attentively and respond to arguments, develop parallel perspectives, make presentations and respond to challenging questions.
The course will also enhance the capacity of participants to reduce their anxiety in public speaking and actively contribute towards development of organizations.

This special course is directed by Dr. Mahim Mendis, a British Chevening Scholar and a Ph.D in Media Sociology from the National University of Singapore with specialized training in democracy and local leadership from the Northern Illionois University ( NIU) and the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, USA.
Dr Mahim Mendis is well known as a defender of professional rights, having been the Spokesman of the Federation of University Teachers Associations (FUTA). He is a specialist in Org anizational Communication and Leadership, professionalism and Good Governance and is a highly sought after trainer for public, private and non- governmental organizations.
Dr. Mendis will be supported by an eminent team of resource persons, including Communication Specialist, Manique Mendis, Personality and Image Building Consultant, Dammi Peiris and Speech and Drama trainer,
Mahishka Mendis.
MODERN PARTICIPATORY METHODLOGY
As in the case of all Communication and English courses administered by the Rainbow Institute, modern participatory and interactive training techniques are used for this course in order to strengthen the participants’ learning experience and develop their own unique styles.
The course will cover a duration of 30 hours, over a period of three months, so that participants can fully absorb and practice the learning skills they acquire. All Sessions will take place at the Rainbow Institute on Saturday afternoons from 2.30 -4.30 pm. Only a limited number of participants are being enrolled in order to ensure that each participant gets personalized attention and adequate time for practical work. A few vacancies are remaining.
