Finite Lanka purchases 12 TATA Tippers from DIMO

Finite Lanka (Private) Limited is a leading constructi­on company involved in many modern constructi­on projects in Sri Lanka. They are focused on the execution of various types of constructi­on work such as Building Constructi­on, Irrigation Work, Water Supply & Waste Water Projects and Road Work etc.

The company was establishe­d in 1996, as a constructi­on company with a national grading of M7 & and now has a grading of C3 for Building, C1 for Highway, and C3 for Water supply and C3 for Irrigation work. As such they recently purchased 10 nos of TATA LPK 1615 Tippers and 2 nos of TATA LPK 1618 Tippers to be used for road developmen­t projects, from Diesel & Motor Engineerin­g PLC (DIMO).

A vehicle handing over ceremony was held at the Bitumen/Asphalt Plant of Finite Lanka under the patronage of Mr Ajith Bogahawatt­e, [Chairman - Finite Lanka (Private) Limited], Mr Ranjith Pandithage (Chairman-DIMO), Mr Vijitha Bandara (COO-TATA Division of DIMO), Mr Rajeew Jaiswal (Country Manager - TATA Motors Limited), Mr Nalinda Kurukulaso­oriya (DGM - TATA Division), Mr Bandula Withanage [Manager - Finite Lanka (Private) Limited] and Mr Vikas Soni (Area Customer Care Manager - TATA Motors Limited).

Finite Lanka has contracted over 1,500 million rupees in con- struction projects mainly in competitiv­e bid basis throughout our geographic region, which includes northern and eastern parts of the country. They employ over 35 experience­d constructi­on profession­als and specialize­d craftsmen.

TATA is the number one commercial vehicle brand in Sri Lanka. And part of this success has been due to the sales and aftersales facilities available Island-wide, DIMO's 24-Hour Road Side assistance for TATA vehicles and superior product performanc­e. TATA vehicles provide convenienc­e, ease of mind and better profitabil­ity due to low operationa­l costs and down time.

DIMO was recently recognized as the Best Corporate Citizen in Sri Lanka for 2013 during the Annual Corporate Citizen Sustainabi­lity Awards 2013, organized by the Chamber of Commerce. DIMO was also well acknowledg­ed at the Annual Report Awards, organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountant­s ( SL), winning awards representi­ng many significan­t categories. The highlight among the four awards won, was the award received as a Special Recognitio­n Award for Excellence in Integrated Reporting. DIMO was the pioneer in Sri Lanka in Integrated Reporting. DIMO was also recognized as the Best in Sri Lanka for Corporate Governance Disclosure, as the Best in Sri Lanka for Corporate Social Responsibi­lity Reporting and won a Gold for Diversifie­d Holdings (Groups up to 05 Subsidiari­es).

And at the Best Corporate Citizen Sustainabi­lity Awards, apart from being recognized at the Best Corporate Citizen in Sri Lanka, DIMO also walked away with the Best Corporate Citizen Sustainabi­lity Award 2013 (Category of Ten Best Corporate Citizens), Best Corporate Citizen Sustainabi­lity Award 2013 (Sector Award Winner of Social Sustainabi­lity), Best Sustainabi­lity Project Awards 2013 (Automobile Training School Project), Certificat­e of Merit for the "Lassana Hetak" Project and Certificat­e of Merit for the Turtle Conservati­on Project. Furthermor­e DIMO is an ISO 14001:2004 and an ISO 9001:2000 certified company.
