Engineering Degrees at ESOFT via Kingston University, UK

-

ESOFT, one of Sri Lanka most sought after institutes for higher education launched a dedicated college for Engineering studies last year. This centre is named as “ESOFT College of Engineering and Technology” and is located in “Katubedda” which is an area that has earned a reputation as the hub of engineering studies due to the presence of the world renowned University of Moratuwa.

The college offers engineering degrees in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electronics & Electrical Engineering. The degree programmes are offered through collaborations with UK universities. Already ESOFT has entered into a MoU with the Kingston University of the United Kingdom for offering their B.Sc. degrees in Civil Engineering, Construction Management and Mechanical Engineering.

This option gives the most economical path to obtain an engineering degree right here in Sri Lanka from the private sector. The student will first enrol into a HND programme in the relevant discipline which is offered in collaboration with Edexcel, UK. ESOFT has over 5 years experience in conducting Edexcel HND programmes throughout Sri Lanka and in the last year it was recognized as the fastest growing Edexcel HND centre with an Excellence award.

The HND programmes will be equivalent to 2 years of a B.Sc. degree allowing the student to directly enrol the final year of the Kingston University Degrees. This will be saving a lot of money compared to other options and it will be just 1/3 of the cost of doing an engineering degree abroad. Students who have already completed their lower level qualifications such as HND can directly join the Final Year of this Degree based on their performance.

ESOFT College of Engineering and Technology attracts some of Sri Lanka’s best academics thereby giving the students the best engineering education that they can get in the private sector. The programmes have adequate practical sessions using state- of-the-art equipment and laboratories. Students studying in the college also get a range of field visits and comprehensive industrial training leading to increase their knowledge and employability. On completion of 4 years of study with a masters programme graduates will be able to get their registration as Members of the IESL (Institute of Engineers of Sri Lanka) and this leads to obtain Chartered Engineer status in Sri Lanka.

This move of ESOFT has already been commended by many educationalists and parents as Sri Lankan state Universities are having only 3 engineering faculties and many students miss out the opportunity of higher learning due to this. ESOFT College of Engineering and Technology is Sri Lanka’s only private sector higher education institution dedicated for engineering studies.

Students with three A/level passes can enrol for the HND programmes, and students with relevant qualifications should apply now for the Kingston University Degree Programmes. As an additional incentive, ESOFT is offering scholarships to the value of 15 Million Rupees, whereby students with good A/L results can get Rs. 100,000 off for each ‘A’ pass they have achieved, and Rs. 50,000 off for each ‘B’ pass, meaning that up to Rs. 300,000 will be reduced from the already low course fee, thereby allowing the student to complete the entire qualification for approximately Rs. 500,000.

Parents and students can obtained further information by calling 011-75 75 480 or by visiting the centre at 314, Galle Road, Katubedda, Moratuwa.
