Shore to Shore ‘A’ turn tables of Intermart Exports ‘A’

Adramatic last over by Eranga Damith in which he took the last four wickets without conceding a run, including a hat- trick enabled Shore to Shore ‘A’ to turn the tables on Intermart Exports ‘A’ in a tense final of the 9th Printers Cricket ‘ Sixes conducted by the Sri Lanka Associatio­n of Printers, played at the NCC ground last weekend.

Chasing a target of 78 runs in five overs, Intermart Exports ‘A’ were in the box seat at 73 for 2 at the end of the 4th over and needing just four runs for victory.

Then came Eranga Damith to bowl the last over under tremendous pressure. With his first three deliveries he got a hat-trick and then got the last man out caught in the deep with his fourth delivery.

For the first time 54- teams participat­ed at this 2014 event. Shore to Shore Printers emerged champions; the second place was taken by Intermart Printers. The third and fourth places went to JF&I Packaging and Wi j e ya Newspapers respective­ly.

RESULTS

Shore to Shore ‘A’ 77 for 4 in 5 overs beat Intermart Exports ‘A’ 73 for 6 in 4.4 overs.

JF & I Packaging ‘A’ 109 for 4 in 5 overs beat Wijeya Newspapers 98 for 2 in 5 overs.
