Victoria Higher Education Campus visits Nepal

-

AVictoria Higher Educat i o n Campus’s representative travelled to Kathmandu, Nepal to attend an international student recruitment fair: “The Himalayan Times - Ambitions 2014”. Roughly over 1,500 students attended the fair, which was staged over a period of 4 days in the capital of Nepal, Kathmandu.

Victoria Higher Education Campus (VHEC), as part of its strategic growth plans and outreach to students overseas to deliver quality UK education outside of the UK to developing countries in the near region of Sri Lanka and further afield, travelled to Nepal to attend the “Ambitions Education Fair 2014”, to encourage students to study in Sri Lanka.

“We understand perfectly that both parents and students want the best possible education, and we believe we can fulfil this aspiration right here in Colombo,” reported the Campus Director. “We were really encouraged by the responses we received and the welcome from local participants.

We want to build a truly international university campus here, not just by words, but by deeds as well. This benefits all concerned, both lecturers and students, through being exposed to other cultures, ideas and building bonds of friendship and common interest across national boundaries. These activities also supports the educational goals of Sri Lanka, to be become an international hub of excellence in higher education.”

With support from VHEC’S local agent, Synaptein International, many students expressed a direct interest in studying with VHEC. All our undergraduate programmes were of great interest, includingVHEC’s new Foundation Programme (“a pathway to university entrance”), and we hope that these students will go ahead and apply. Certainly our agent in Nepal will follow up all students to encourage them to join our VHEC community here in Colombo.

University of Greenwich programme in Sri Lanka is very attractive, equivalent to nearly a 50% scholarship for all students studying at VHEC! This makes VHEC a sound decision for students wanting a quality UK university education in Sri Lanka, and not just for Nepalese students and all other international students, but it’s also a great deal for local Sri Lankan students as well.

Students studying at VHEC can transfer to the University of Greenwich home campuses in the UK after year 2 of study, ensuring a truly international and British educational experience.

VHEC is somewhat unique in Sri Lanka in having a British academic management and an institution that is solely foreign owned.
