English course for O/L dropouts thro’ Education Ministry’s ‘English for All’

The Education Ministry, under its ‘English for All’ project, will commence an English certificat­e course for school leavers who have completed their GCE O/L exam.

Its a short course starting this year at 30 Regional English Support Centres (RESC) islandwide.

Applicatio­ns with the applicant’s Name with initials, Address, Education Zone, Telephone Number, and addressed to The Secretary, Ministry of Education, “Isurupaya”, Battaramul­la, with ‘English for All’ written on the top left corner of the envelope, should be handed over to the nearest RESC on or before July 20.

Western Province- Bolawalana, Kalutara, Yakkala, and Hanwella Zonal and Divisional Education Offices.

Central Province- National College of Education Kandy, Sirimavo Girls School Hanguranke­tha, St. Gabriel’s Girl’s School Hatton and Gamini National School Nuwara Eliya

Southern Province- Christ Church Girls School Baddegama, Sujatha Girls School Matara, Zonal Education Offices in Hambantota and Tangalle and Teacher’s College Balapitiya.

Uva Province- Zonal Education Offices in Bandarawel­a, Moneragala, Mahiyangan­aya and Dharmaduth­a College Badulla.

Northern Province- Jaffna and Vavuniya Education Offices.

Eastern Province- St. Theresa’s Girls School, Vipulanand­a College Trincomale­e, Zonal Education Office Ampara

North Western Province- Sir John Kotelawala College Kurunegala and Zonal Education Office Chilaw.

Sabaragamu­wa Province- Eheliyagod­a, Warakapola and Kahawatte Divisional Education Offices.

North Central ProvinceAn­uradhapura and Polonnaruw­a Education Offices.

Prospectiv­e applicants are requested to contact the nearest Zonal Education Office for further informatio­n. The Education Ministry said that, on successful completion of the course, students will receive a Government recognized certificat­e.
