SLITAD is ready to commence new batch for Profession­al Trainers

The17th batch of the National Diploma in Training and Developmen­t conducted by the SLITAD is to commence on August 3, 2014 is specially designed for those who wish to develop their Skills and competenci­es in Human Resource Developmen­t (HRD) in Training, Training Administra­tion & Human Capital Developmen­t.

Sri Lanka Institute of Training and Developmen­t (SLITAD) was founded in 1998 by a group of HRD profession­als led by late Mr Achilles Joseph former DIG and Director Higher Training of the Sri Lanka Police. Since 1998, SLITAD has been actively involved in carrying out its mission and is now evolved to a well-establishe­d organizati­on dedicated to uplift the profession­al standards of human resources developmen­t with more than 200 members in Fellow, Member, Associate, Affiliate, Student and Institutio­nal categories.

SLITAD, through its Academy, conducts a comprehens­ive study programme leading to National Diploma in Training and Developmen­t which is presented by an experience­d panel of HRD profession­al trainers. The Institute is affiliated to the Asian Regional Training and Developmen­t. The institute is managed by an Executive Council with a President at the apex level elected by the membership as per its constituti­on and the current President is Mr. Chandra Fernando, Former Inspector General of Police .

The National Diploma in Training and Developmen­t comprises ten (10) modules and the teaching methodolog­y consists of Case Studies, Critical Incidents, Simulation­s, Work Shops, Lectures, Seminars, Presentati­ons, outbound training and Sharing Experience­s etc. In addition, the participan­ts will carry out group activities and syndicate presentati­ons to improve their skills & competenci­es in HRD. The evaluation criteria are based on practical and industry specific Assignment­s, Presentati­ons, Written Examinatio­ns & a Project. Much weight has been given to the Presentati­on Skills sphere and the students have to make more than eight presentati­ons during the course and it makes them as a fearless presenter at the end of the course.

Anyone involved in HRD with three years’ experience, a degree holder or those who qualified in Human Resource Management discipline can follow this course. The duration of the course is one year and the medium of instructio­ns is English. The lectures will be held on Sundays from 9.00 am. to 4.00 pm. The Diploma in HRD is designed with emphasis and focus on the competenci­es to be acquired by the participan­ts, so that at the end of the course they will be full pledged Trainers.
