The Annual Prize-Giving was held on Saturday, July 5, with Dr Mrs Tania WarnakulasuriyaSiriwardena as the Chief Guest and Dr Niroshan Siriwardena as the Guest of Honour.

“Frozen” – The annual English Day was held on July 10. Western Province Director of English, Ms Nimali Baduraliya was the Chief Guest and Mrs Irangani Serasinghe was the Guest of Honour.

Laying of the Foundation stone for the Mahindodaya Technical Faculty was held on July 4 under the patronage of Irrigation & Water Resources Management Minister, Nimal Siripala De Silva.

The College Anniversary was celebrated on June 28, with a holy mass by the Dalupotha Parish Priest, Rev Fr Jude Lakshman, followed by a variety entertainment programme organised by the Prefects’ Association at the main hall, under the patronage of former Principal, Sunil T. Silva and former Deputy Principal Mrs Lalana Fernando.

“Mihindu Suwanda” – a historic book written by Mr D. Liyanage on his experiences as a teacher at Mahinda College, was launched on Friday, July 11 at the College premises.

The Principal Induction Service and the installation ceremony of the new Headmaster, Rev Christopher Balaraj will be held on Monday, July 14, from 11 am onwards at the College chapel.

The First Holy Communion with a holy mass for 50 students was held on July 5 at Bambukuliya church.

The Prefects’ Induction ceremony was held on July 11 at the main hall. Kelaniya Zonal Director of Education, Mrs Kanchana Hathurusingh was the Chief Guest.
