The Diploma stage grants exemptions to the first year of the degree and students will be directed to commence the respective diploma: Diploma in Economics, Diploma in Social Sciences or Diploma in Law leading to the degree they intend to read. Registered students will be awarded a Diploma upon successful completion of the 1st year of study.

The BSc and LLB programmes have also been designed by LSE-led academics and the qualitative teaching at RIC is one major contributing factor shaping the character of individuals which makes RIC graduates - Musaeus College - Asian International School - Royal Institute International School - D. A Business Administration Degree is one of the most sought degrees by employers around the world since it covers a wide area of expertise. People with such qualification are believed to go that extra mile in general management. One significant trait of the programme is that it touches all key areas of a business. This differentiates the Business Administration students from other specialisations.

RIC now offers a Master of Laws – a postgraduate level qualification in Law from University of London equivalent to an MBA in Business and Management. The LL.M is offered through the University of London International Programmes, in which the academic direction is provided jointly by the Department of Law of Queen Mary (QMUL) and the University College London (UCL). The LL.M can be obtained by law graduates, and also non-law graduates can enrol in the programme if the first degree is in an area in – line with the desired specialisation of the LL. M. The specialisation areas which suit both the current global and local markets are: Commercial and Cooperate Law, International Business Law, Intellectual Property Law, Financial Services Law and Banking and Finance Law.

Deakin University, Australia

The collaboration of the Royal Institute of Colombo with Deakin University is unique as it provides a pathway programme for students to commence their respective degrees at RIC and complete it at Deakin, Australia. This route is chosen by many students as it amply provides opportunities to fulfil their academic goals in obtaining an Australian degree while being able to live work and earn in Australia. The Deakin – RIC affiliation offers four degree programmes: Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Biomedical Science, Bachelor of Information Technology, and Bachelor of Science.

RIC’s Success over the Years in University of London programmes

RIC is extremely proud that it enjoys an excellent track record of results even at the global level. The Diplomates at RIC secure many Distinctions, Merit and Credit passes each year. Further, the graduates also secure First Class (Hons.) and a large number of Second Classes (Hons.) in the final year. One distinctive academic achievement is that RIC has surpassed the global pass rate in 69 modules out of the 80 modules it offered last year. RIC produces numerous world prizes every year and maintains a 97% success rate in the final year.

Scholarships…

RIC only offers scholarships to high achievers at A/Ls. Students who have 3 A*s at London A/Ls or 4 A’s at Local A/Ls have been awarded with up to 75% scholarships for their 1st Year of studies. Simultaneously, the students who obtain Distinctions in the First Year examination ( Diploma in Law/ Economics/ Social Sciences) receive a ‘ High Achievers Scholarship’ of 50% for their 2nd and 3rd Year. The aim of RIC in offering these scholarships is to encourage the high achievers at A/Ls and to have them continue with their outstanding performances in the subsequent examinations they face and gain a First Class Honours pass at the final examination of the University of London.
