Extending the UOW Excellence to Sri Lankan students

-

An enriching and rewarding learning experience awaits students of the University of Wollongong (UOW) degree programmes at INTI in Malaysia. The programmes are affiliated with a university that enjoys a Five- star status in Australia, is placed in the top 2% of world universities*, and is listed among the best modern universities in the world.

UOW has a growing reputation for academic research and performs exceptionally well in terms of graduate salaries and course ratings by students. It is ranked number two among Australia’s top 10 universities by University Reviews Australia 2014.

Working in partnership, UOW and INTI have extended the best in tertiary education to students in Malaysia through degree programmes in IT (major in eBusiness or Network Design & Management), Computer Science (major in Software Engineering, Mobile Computing, Multimedia and Game Development or Digital Systems Security), Commerce (major in Finance, Accounting, Management, Economics, Marketing, International Business or Public Relations) and Communication & Media Studies (major in Marketing Communication and Advertising).

INTI UOW students enjoy access to on-line resources that are available at UOW. These include e-books, e-journal as well as e-teaching and learning materials. The graduation certificate is conferred by UOW and bears the name University of Wollongong.

As the courses delivered at INTI are identical in content to those at UOW in Australia, students can also choose to transfer at the end of any semester to continue their studies in Australia. Transfer options available are the 2+1, 1.5+1.5 and 1+2 arrangements. Students may also choose to spend a semester at UOW in Australia with the study abroad option available.

Among the unique platforms for innovative learning and career development in the UOW programme is the annual UOW Technopreneur Week. Students take on the challenge of putting together a creative event to enhance their soft skills and prepare themselves for the real working environment, as well as promote an entrepreneurial spirit and mindset.

While studying at INTI, students will have the opportunity to also build their competencies through other initiatives such as through employer projects, where students will work together with employers to solve real-life issues that employers face. This helps students develop problem solving, collaboration, communication and critical thinking skills. Since 2011, INTI students have completed 250 innovative projects with 166 employers from various industries

Sri Lankan students have the option of doing the Diploma in Business at ANC Education Sri Lanka and transferring to the second year of the UOW programme. For further information on UOW programmes at INTI, please contact the local representative office on 0773335522
