Candela enlightens the Central Hills with the future of learning

Along with the media unit of the Sri Dalada Maligawa, Candela Learning Technologi­es, a subsidiary of the printing and digital media heavyweigh­t Printcare PLC, and a pioneer in E-Text books for the Sri Lankan curriculum, distribute­d its award winning Science CDs to students from leading schools in Kandy.

Kandy Girls’ High School, Mahamaya Colle ge, and Kingswood College participat­ed in the event organized by the Sri Dalada Maligawa, with over 100 students in all three mediums present along with their Science teachers.

In keeping with the vision of HE President Mahinda Rajapakse to make Sri Lanka a Knowledge Hub, Candela recognises the importance of applying technology to improve the access to, and quality of, learning and education. Candela has been working towards this by providing a technologi­cal edge to Sri Lankan students over the last few years. The result is an engaging and exciting way of learning and teaching, using some of the very latest technology available today.

Nilanga Dela, The Diyawadana Nilame, in his speech at the occasion, highlighte­d the importance of incorporat­ing new global technologi­cal trends into our education system to give us an edge in the modern world.

Many of Candela’s existing users affirmed that Candela has been advantageo­us for them to excel in Science, while still performing in their other school work and extra curricular activities.

The teachers from these leading schools commented that Candela E-Textbooks would give them, as well as their students, an advantage in achieving better learning outcomes and results.
