Merc ‘C’division on the road

Prestige Automobile (Pvt) Ltd. will power the MCA ‘C’ Division 50- Over League Tournament 2015 for the 4th successive year. 12 teams are vying for the BMW – Hyundai Trophy. The teams will play in two groups as follows:

JL Morrison Son & Jones, Airport & Aviation Services, Dialog Axiata ‘A’, IDM Nation Campus, Standard Chartered Bank and Nations Trust Bank ‘A’.

Softlogic Holdings, People’s Leasing & Finance PLC., Commercial Leasing Co., LB Finance ‘B’, Colombo Dockyard PLC. and Janashakth­i Insurance ‘A’. The tournament got underway yesterday. The league stage will go on till December 21, 2014, consisting 30 matches.

At the completion of the league stage, the first four teams of each group will advance to the Knock- out quarter finals on 3rd and 4th January; the Semi-Finals on 10th January and the Final scheduled for 17th January 2015 at the MCA grounds.

The 37 matches are spread around, MCA, Thurstan, St. Benedict’s, Wesley and Kelaniya University Grounds.

All matches will be supervised by the handpicked MCA Match Referee Panel consisting, Pemlal Fernando, A.J. Samaraseke­ra, Nalin de Silva, Chandana Mahesh, U.S.E. Perera, Manoj Perera and Varuna Waragoda; the Final will be done by K. H. Nandasena.The officiatin­g Umpires will be from the Associatio­n of Cricket Umpires, Sri Lanka (ACU) and the Scorers for all matches will be assigned to the teams by Sri Lanka Scorers.

The Special Awards on offer are for the Best Batsman, Bowler, Man of the Final and Man of the Tournament.

The past Winners of the BMW – Hyundai Trophy were, Merchant Credit of Sri Lanka (2012), HSBC ‘A’ (2013), Merchant Bank of SL Insurance (2014).
