EDEX EXPO 2015 embarks on an evolutiona­ry journey

12th edition of Sri Lanka’s pioneering education and careers exhibition, EDEX Expo will be held from 23rd to 25th January 2015 at BMICH Colombo and on 30th and 31st January 2015 at Kandy City Centre ( KCC), Kandy with innovative value additions.

The interest in the EDEX Expo has grown considerab­ly over the past 11 years, becoming the most sought after education and careers exhibition in Sri Lanka. EDEX Expo 2015 will attract nearly 400 stalls, more than 175 local and foreign exhibitors from over 20 countries, vouching for its advancing stature. Those seeking overseas educationa­l opportuni- ties too will have access to over 250 foreign universiti­es on site.

With 4 concurrent exhibition­s ‘EDEX Expo 2015’ will provide an unparallel­ed service to nation’s youth to make informed decisions in profession­al, technical, vocational and green education, leading to gainful employment. Parallel to the education exhibition, seamless services from psychometr­ic tests to career guidance and counsellin­g will be on offer free of charge.

‘With the introducti­on of the Job Fair to EDEX platform, we have begun an evolutiona­ry journey towards empowering youth. Now we offer three exhibition­s a year, two in Colombo in January and August and one in Kandy in January. Aspiring students and job seekers have a range of options in the process of school to work transition from higher education to gainful employment at EDEX Expo. Companies seeking to recruit new employees at the Expo also have two back to back opportunit­ies in the First and Second half of the year,’ said Founder/ Chairman EDEX Kamal Abeysinghe.

‘ EDEX Job Fair’ is endorsed by the Inter national Labour Organisati­on ( ILO); with Ceylon Chamber of Commerce ( CCC) and Employers’ Federation of Ceylon (EFC) becoming strategic partners.

The event has attracted many interested corporate clients, who recognise this platform as being conducive to find the right ‘job seeker’ for their selected portfolio of jobs.

An array of choices, options and opportunit­ies will be on offer for every youth, including students who have completed their G. C. E. ( O/ L) and G. C. E. ( A/ L) exams, undergradu­ates and graduates, eager to explore opportunit­ies available to suit their tertiary and post graduate academic pursuits, as well as for unemployed or underem- ployed.

For the exhibitors, EDEX Expo endeavours to provide a cost effective business platform.
