Talent show gives young stars their moment in the spotlight
Tranze 2014 Talent Show presented by DCFM University of Kelaniya
Third year students of the Department of Commerce and Financial Management (DCFM) in the Faculty of Commerce & Management Studies of University of Kelaniya organized Talent show to showcase the Aesthetic talents of undergraduates of the department. The program was held on 12th of November 2014 at Dharmaloka Hall at the university, with the participation of Professor Sunanda Madduma Bandara, the vice chancellor of university of Kelaniya as the chief guest, Dean of the Faculty Dr. D.M. Semasinghe, Head of the Department Dr. C. Pathirawasam and famous actresses Ms. Chandani Senavirathne and Ms. AshaEdirisingha as guest of honours.
In the event there were 20 items presented by students in the department, including singing, dancing, instrumental, drama and creative items. According to the views of the spectators the event had been glamorous and they were highly impressed about the way the event was organised. The successes of this event was achieved with guidance of lectuers in charged Mrs. Chathuri Senarath, Mrs. DeepaniWijethunga and support of all university members and Alumna association of the Department. The DELL Srilanka was the main sponsor of this event and BPO Academy Srilanka, CMA institute, Mahendra Two Wheelers, Lucky Lanka(pvt) ltd, Nestomalt, Sunday Times, MAS, Sirisara Printers also joined with us to make the event success.
Head of the department Dr. C. Pathirawasm said “This is the attractive event that the student organize to perform different talent of them more than academic and this make good collaboration among not only students but also lectures with guiding younger students for their future projects”Mrs. Chandani Senevirathne said “More than their sub- jects students perform well and I can’t believe their studying commerce subjects” Mrs.AshaEdirisingha had idea “when I’m studying this department we have no like this events, this will be a good platform for the students and I can proud this performance as well as organizing of this event.”
Project secretary Ms. KalaniRanasinghe did the welcome speech remembering the ways how we give our collaboration to birth of this TranZe 2014 and Mr. Dinuka Kodikara project manager delivered the vote of thanks representing organizing committee and thanks the vice chancellor, Dean of the faculty, Head of the Department, Choreographers, lectuers in charged, all the other lectures of the department, Nonacademic staff, Parents, Sponsors of this event and also Students of the department for the contribution that they made with us to success this event. And the certificate awarding ceremony also held for all the presenters in this talent show 20th of November at the Department by organizing committee.
