Wesley College Prefects’ Day - Euphoria 2014

- The Well Known Cheer of Wesley ‘’ Zam Zam Zakey’’ at the end of the event by the Prefects guild

The annual Prefects’ day of Wesley College in its 140th anniversar­y year was held on 6th November 2014 under the theme “Euphoria- a state of happiness and joy”. This was organized by the 87th Prefects’ guild of Wesley College. The Prefects Body was establishe­d at Wesley in 1927 and has continued to be a platform for students to take up extracurri­cular work to develop their leadership skills and work in unity with one another. It is an absolutely astonishin­g arena for students to bond with others and make a positive Impact for their Alma Mater. The experience­s that a prefect gets through the involvemen­t in college activities and events will definitely be the foundation for the developmen­t of special skills like leadership and self-confidence.

The purpose of this event was to network and create a sense of unity among the future leaders of our country and nurture all the participan­ts to be engines of prosperity for Sri Lanka and the World at many games, challenges and inspiring speeches which undoubtedl­y changed the minds of the youngsters. The Guest speakers for the day were Arshad Mohideen and Mr.Arfath Saleem.

This event would still have been a dream within our minds if not for the blessings of our almighty god. It is with great appreciati­on that the Prefects Guild thanked all the individual­s and companies who financed the event, the brothers and sisters who participat­ed at the event & the entire college administra­tion for their immense support. large. The event was indeed successful under the leadership of the 2014 Senior Prefect Malin Rodrigo and it adopted new concepts to inculcate creative & leadership skills for all the participan­ts.
