The conference will shed light on the thinking patterns of great designers by Jane Rapley who has become an icon in British design and honoured with Queen’s Order of the British Empire, for leading the team that launched the careers of some of the most legendary names in design, including Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney and Matthew Williamson. Seasoned fashion educator and knitwear designer Jane Gottelier and experienced colour theorist Janet Best will touch on the fundamental connections between fashion, design and culture along with the indispensable topic of psychology, tricks and trends in colour usage for design. Providing a rare opportunity for young designers, innovators and students the discussion will also bring in Patrick Gottelier’s -British industrial designer and educationalist- insight in leading design businesses in local and international markets and British visual artist Bella Towse’s expertise in visual planning and communication. AOD’s international faculty’s senior graphic design tutor, Canadian designer Alain Parizeau and Assistant Programme leader hailing from India- Pushpi Bagchi will bring in their expertise on the significance of language and vernacular culture in design.
