With Run for Their Lives coming up in December, we thought it might perhapspe be time for the more passionate­pa of runners to begin trainingtr­a for the run which raises millionsm in aid of the Maharagama­M Cancer Hospital everyev year. Here’s what you need to know about Run For Their LivesLi

It began in 2010 with 300 people, ra raising Rs.400,000. Last year, RF RFTL drew in over 2000 pa participan­ts. This year they target an attendance of 3000.

The run is organised by the Ro Rotaract Club of Colombo Uptown and managed by a group of young people every year. They volunteer their time for the cause, and the organizati­on process usually begins months before the event. Every year the money is directed towards purchase of medicine for the Maharagama Cancer Hospital, which provides free consultati­on and treatment for those afflicted with cancer.

They’ve had celebrity endorsemen­ts from the likes of Mahela Jayawarden­e, Koluu and Angelo Matthews.

A fun fair after the run will be held at CH&FC after the run.
