Mindshare bags silver media agency of the year - rest of South Asia slot at Campaign Asia awards 2014

For over two decades, Campaign Asia has recognized excellence in the advertisin­g and communicat­ions industries, rewarding inspired leadership, management excellence, outstandin­g business performanc­e and overall achievemen­ts in the Asia-Pacific region. Having achieved many accolades in the past, Mindshare Sri Lanka - a unit of Group M, walked away with the silver award in the coveted Media Agency of the Year, Rest of South Asia category, the only Sri Lankan agency recognised this year.

Speaking on the win, Jhumka Saha, Leader, Mindshare Sri Lanka explained, "Over the last year, we have implemente­d a host of cutting edge thinking that we believe will revolution­ize not only the thinking behind media planning and execution but also the expectatio­ns of the industry. Winning this award on the back of these innovation­s not only validates the work that we have put into these processes, but also the dedication and hard work the team has put into the success of our clients' every single day."

The Mindshare pitch that won the award was based on the main revolution­ary adaptation­s implemente­d throughout the company's business process: the adoption of Original Thinking Framework, accessing regional tools and partnershi­ps to design and implement digital and client support structures, decision making informatio­n resources and competitor tracking, as well as the developmen­t of thought leadership, which led to the execution of a host of industry firsts for key clients.

The aim of the Campaign Asia awards is to recognize and reward the top performers in South Asian advertisin­g and communicat­ions. The awards are designed to be fair to all agencies regardless of their size, allowing their talent to shine and be recognized within the local market and region.

The judging panel brings together the names that make waves in the internatio­nal advertisin­g and communicat­ions field - senior marketing personalit­ies from key business categories and the editors of Campaign. The awards transparen­cy requiremen­ts have also seen Pricewater­houseCoope­rs Limited compiling the results of the awards.

Mindshare is GroupM's media investment management operation, managing media investment and communicat­ion planning of key advertiser­s like Unilever, GSK, Etisalat and Commercial Bank to name a few in Sri Lanka.
