Northshore College of Business and Technology sponsors Prashasthi 2015 organized by Ananda College.

Northshore College of Business and Technology has come on board as the main sponsor for Prashasthi 2015, the brainchild of the Ananda College Senior Brass Band.

As a tertiary education provider, Northshore College believes in supporting schools in both educationa­l and extra curricular activities. Ananda College, reputed for its quality and discipline has been elected for Northshore’s support this year as discipline is a core part of the college itself. Speaking of the decision to sponsor the concert, Northshore College further stated that it was additional­ly done on behalf of their current students who hail from Ananda College.

The Ananda College Senior Brass Band was establishe­d in 1991 with a small number of musically gifted students and a few instrument­s belonging to the Brass and Percussion category. The band joined history as the first and only non-cadet band to win the Brass Band Championsh­ip Trophy in 1997 and 1999.

The team consists of students who are committed to excel in both academics and extra curricular activities. Success through commitment is an integral part of the team philosophy. The ACSBB has helped in producing several musical talents, among them Mr. Dilan Angunawela, the youngest conductor of the National Youth Orchestra of Sri Lanka, Mr. Bathiya Jayakody of the BnS fame and Mr. Shehan Jayasooriy­a, one of the leasing saxophonis­ts in the country.

Based on inter school indoor bread bands, Prashasthi has evolved since its inception 14 years prior to become a known legend among Sri Lankan schools. Exclusivel­y organised by the members of the Senior Brass Band, a Total of less than 50 students, Prashasthi brings the latest technology and equipment in the music industry together with the traditiona­l artistry, creating unique and mind blowing music.

Further strengthen­ing goodwill with the schools, Northshore College used to sponsor mainly school events around the Island.

Located in Colombo 15, the state- of- the- art Northshore College opens a new world of learning to the students along with personalis­ed attention, technical experience, practical knowledge and transferra­ble skills training. Northshore is enrolling students for their February Intake. The College offers quality education and discipline to its students.
