Twenty six Australian education providers consisting of Universities, Technical and Further Education institutes and State Government allies will engage directly with Sri Lankan students wishing to explore further education in Australia.

The Australian High Commission officials will be conducting Student Visa Information Sessions at the exhibition on Friday, 13th February 2015 at Taj Samudra Hotel. The 1st session will be held between 1.00 pm and 1.30 pm and the 2nd session will be held between 3.30 pm to 4.00 pm and officials will be available throughout the afternoon to avail necessary guidance to students.

This information session will assist students to better understand the wide range of further study options available to them in Australia, and will provide guidance to them on how to access these opportunities and how to successfully navigate the student visa process.

Australia welcomes over 250,000 students every year from around the world, and is keen to attract the best students from Sri Lanka. Australia encourages and welcomes international students because their participation in society helps to create strong people to people links between Australia and the rest of the world.

Australia combines a world class education with a multicultural environment and provides students an opportunity to learn and live in a progressive and vibrant society. Australia continues to be at the forefront of research, development and innovation across many disciplines, from the sciences to sport. Australia continues to rank among the most popular education destinations for Sri Lankan students.

Substantial numbers of Sri Lankan graduates are now applying the skills and knowledge they acquired in Australia in fields of expertise across government, community and the private sector both at home in Sri Lanka as well as across the globe.

The opportunity to study abroad and to acquire an international perspective is a very valuable one, not only for the students themselves but also for the communities to which they return upon completion of their studies.

Australia has become one of the most popular international study destinations for Sri Lankan students and student visa grants to Sri Lankan nationals have been increasing in recent years.

Australia offers:

Access to some of the world’s leading educational institutions

Competitive education costs

Streamlined visa processing for most applicants

A well-established expatriate Sri Lankan community

A safe and beautiful environment in which to study
