Shreya Goshal to perform for Sri Lankan Bolllywood buffs

-

The name Shreya Goshal is the big one for Bollywood fans around the globe. A songstress who has lent her voice to make the magical moments of many Hindi, Tamil and Telungu blockbusters come alive, Shreya is to perform in Sri Lanka as early as this March. Bringing with her an award winning repertoire of songs from screen names such as "My Name is Khan," Rowdy Rathore" and "Bodyguard" her solo concert, Shreya Goshal live In Concert is to entertain Sri Lankan Bolllywood buffs on March 28 at the CR&FC grounds.

Having worked with musical legends such as A. R Rahman, the contemporary singer has not only become well-known for her musical prowess, but has been celebrated for it. Recognised by all major film awarding bodies including IIFA, Filmfare and the Indian Telly Awards she has the title of "Best Female Playback Singer" by all their standards and has even won the National Film Award for the title.

Effortlessly attracting mass crowds the playback singer has in the past had no issues filling out a space. "She easily sings for over 10,000 people in India, " Dushyanth Weeraman, one of the three producers of Shreya's show in Colombo tells us. Working with Charith Abeysinghe and Janaki Wijerathne he says the venture is not business as usual for all of them. "They normally produce films, and I'm an artist," which means getting this concert off the ground is a means of "diversifying our interests." However flying down a landmark name of Bollywood isn't easy and Dushyanth believes the privilege can be shared among those in the entertainment industry to make it a truly momentous event.

Tickets for Shreya Goshal Live In Concert will be available soon at the CR&FC.
