Pranzo at Waters Edge goes authentic Italian

Pranzo, the flagship restaurant featuring authentic Italian cuisine; has launched a new menu, positionin­g itself as the most sought after Italian family restaurant in Colombo. General Manager Rohan Fernandopu­lle together with his esteemed culinary brigade headed by Executive Chef Buddhika Samaraseka­ra and culinary experts Leonardo Ricci and Chef Simone Gobbo have introduced a variety of dishes inspired by the concept of “Family”.

One of the newest add-ons to the menu is “Cicchetti”. Originatin­g from the sidewalks of Venice, this platter for two encompasse­s Chicken Meatballs in Tomato sauce, Zucchini Fritti, Calamari Fritti, Tomato and Garlic Bruschetta and Truffle butter with Anchovy Crostini. This makes an ideal appetizer for families and friends to share.

Moving along to Naples best seller-Pizza; Waters Edge together with Chef Simone has created a special double ‘dough’ (pizza crust) like none other. With the intention of bridging Sri Lankan and Italian cuisine a ‘Sritaliana’ pizza selection has been introduced with Pizza toppings that vary from Tandoori Chicken, Curried Mutton, Spicy Minced Beef and much more. Additional dishes of the menu entail an immense range of meat, seafood and vegetarian dishes:

Grilled Jumbo Prawns, Chicken Milanese, Slow Braised Lamb, all the above with popular favourites; Spaghetti Carbonara and Prawn Ravioli. For the sweet tooth, Italian cuisine pro- vides a vast and delectable assortment of desserts; Tiramisu, Panna Cotta, Warm Chocolate Pudding etc. since its inception, over the past year Pranzo has been renowned for its impeccable ‘Homemade Pistachio Ice-cream’.
