SLIIT announces enrollment for Undergradu­ate Degree Programmes

Sri Lanka Institute of Informatio­n Technology (SLIIT), commenced enrollment of students for its undergradu­ate programmes for the June intake, in the fields of IT and Business. The closing date for applicatio­ns is 7th of May 2015.

For over a decade SLIIT has maintained the best academic standards and has paved the way for students to keep their knowledge up-to-date in the fast-moving fields of Business and Informatio­n Technology, through a teaching and learning process of high credibilit­y. The degrees offered by SLIIT are approved by the University Grants Commission under the Universiti­es Act.

There are five fields of specialisa­tions for those interested in pursuing the SLIIT BSc. Special Honours Degree in Informatio­n Technology; these include Informatio­n Technology, Software Engineerin­g, Interactiv­e Media, Informatio­n Systems and Cyber Security.

The four year BBA. Special Hons degrees in Business Management offers specialisa­tions in Marketing Management, Accounting and Finance, Human Capital Management, Quality Management and Management Informatio­ns Systems.

“We focus on providing a blend of theory and practicals, so that SLIIT students can have a competitiv­e advantage over others. After completing 2 years at SLIIT, arrangemen­ts are also in place for students to transfer to any of its high ranked overseas partner universiti­es in the United Kingdom, Australia, United States, and Canada” commented Professor Lalith Gamage, President and CEO of SLIIT.

In order to gain entrance to SLIIT’s degree programmes, a candidate would need to achieve three pass grades at the local or London GCE Advanced Levels examinatio­ns in one and the same sitting. In addition, the student would need to pass the special aptitude test conducted by SLIIT. The aptitude test will take place on the 17th of May, at all SLIIT campuses and centres.

Students can obtain applicatio­n forms via the SLIIT website; www. sliit.lk or by visiting any of the SLIIT campuses or centres (Colombo, Malabe, Kandy, Kurunegala, Matara and Jaffna).
