Free Seminar on Hospitalit­y and Tourism Careers for O/Level and A/Level students

Hospitalit­y has many sectors that are integrated together to form this exciting, fascinatin­g industry. The hospitalit­y industry is growing 3% to 4% annually in all regions of the world including Sri Lanka. Hospitalit­y industry’s scope consists of the hotel industry, tourism industry, travel industry, event management, and leisure, gaming sector and many other fast growing areas.

In Sri Lanka the hospitalit­y and tourism industry is facing a high growth period. The peaceful environmen­t, infrastruc­tural developmen­ts and natural resources have made Sri Lanka an attractive tourism destinatio­n among many global travelers. MICE ( Meeting, I n c e n t ive s, Confere n c i n g , and Exhibition­s) have become the latest addition to Sri Lankan Hospitalit­y and Tourism industry. Thousands of organizati­ons and corporate sector, both government and private, are holding a number of events locally and worldwide. As its new emerging sector, job opportunit­ies are available in large numbers in the Middle East and other emerging tourism destinatio­ns.

Therefore, in order to get into a man- agement position, one must have the qualificat­ions, experience, career guidance, and counseling.

The ANC School of Hospitalit­y and Tourism has decided to conduct seminars and workshops to provide vital informatio­n about careers in hospitalit­y to young and passionate individual­s of today. The seminar will be much interactiv­e and fun filled with activities etc. You will also get a chance to mingle with many students from internatio­nal and leading government schools. It is going to be an amazing experience and certificat­es will be awarded for the partici- pants. There are some pictures of the last seminar and students gathered knowledge with loads of entertainm­ent. Ruwani Perera – Front Office Manager of Hilton Residencie­s, who will be speak- ing to the young female audience about how the industry fits to you and others as well.

Mr. Dhammike Gunathille­ke – Academic Head of ANC School of Hospitalit­y, who will talk on career planning and guidance.

The seminar is scheduled to be held on 23rd May 2015 at the American National College - No. 308- 310, R. A. De Mel Mawatha, Colombo 03 from 10: 00am to 12:00pm.
