Monthly medal for Nimal Wettimuny

Nimal Wettimuny bagged the main title of the Monthly Medal Golf Tournament held at the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) last Saturday. Wettimuny won both the Division ‘A’ Handicap 0-90 Nett and Gross categories with 70 Nett and 75 Gross points. The Division ‘B’ Handicap 10-18 Nett and Gross titles were won by Manoj Algama while John Head Rapson won the Division ‘C’ Handicap 19-28 Nett and Gross titles.

Nawaloka Petroleum and New Ashford Internatio­nal, two companies set up under the umbrella of Nawaloka Holdings, sponsored the May Monthly Medal Golf Tournament organised by RCGC.

The championsh­ip was held under six categories, with the winner and runner up of each group qualifying for the trophies. There were over 18 holes, with the tournament being open for all members of the men’s section having a current RCGC handicap. The handicap categories were Division ‘A’ Handicap 00-09, Division ‘B’ Handicap 10-18, Division ‘C’ Handicap 19-28, Seniors 65 and over, Masters 55 and over and National Pool Players.
