It’s CCC all the way

The 8th Annual series between CCC School of Cricket and the touring Imtiaz Ahmed C.A. from India, played for the ‘Imtiaz Ahmed – Nelson Mendis’ Challenge Trophy saw the CCC SC retaining the Trophy for yet another year, when they dominated the series, winning seven matches and losing only one match.

The Under 14 team won all four encounters while the Under 12 team won three matches and lost one.

The main award the “Imtiaz Ahmed – Nelson Mendis’ Challenge Trophy was given away by Vikar Ahmed, son of Imtiaz Ahmed and was received jointly by two skippers of CCC SC Thevindu Senaratne (U-14) and Muthaar Nasir (U-12).

The following awards were won by CCC SC players (both U-14 and U-12) at the conclusion of the series:

Under 14: Best Batsman – Yasas Abeysekera, Best Bowler – Monil Silva, Best Fielder – Kavindu Pathiratna, Best All Rounder – Shyamsunde­r Krishnasri­ram, Most Promising Player – (miss) Gagani Silva and Player of the Series – Shyamsunde­r Krishnasri­ram

Under 12: Best Batsman – Linal Subasinghe, Best Bowler – Omen Kapuliyana­ge, Best Fielder – Hiran Jayasunder­a, Best All Rounder – Muthaar Nasir, Most Promising Young Player – Dasis Manchanaya­ke, Player of the Series – Sharu Shanmugana­than

From the visitors, young and promising allrounder Y. Siddharth won two awards on offer for the ‘Best Batsman’ and the ‘Player of the Series’.
