The benefits of studying in the US & in the UK

-

More and more students, across the country, are choosing to undergo Advanced Level ( A/ L) examinations every year. However, once students finish their A/ Ls, they face the daunting task of deciding which course of action to take next. For those who choose to pursue a degree, the options are endless. Sri Lankan students, faced with a heavy influx of options to study in local or foreign universities, might pose the question, “Why study in the U. K or the U. S?” We at Adventus Education believe that pursuing a U. K or a U. S degree holds several benefits for students who decide to study abroad.

Study in a country renowned for its highly reputed and prestigious education:

Eight of the top 10 universities in the world are American universities, and the U. S has more universities on the Top 100 World Universities than any other country in the world. U. S universities are renowned for their research faculties, having published more than half of the scientific research studies in the world. .

Additionally, a degree obtained from a U.K university is recognized in nearly every country around the world. According to a 2008 research study, U.K universities are considered to be a leader when it comes to educa- tion and research. All of our partners have been consistently ranked on the top 100 universities in the world as well as top 50 lists in the U.K.

Studying in the U.S. or in the U.K increases your chances of employment:

At present, several U. S Universities offer international students the opportunity to take part in the Optional Practical Training program that is available upon graduation. Students are able to work for a maximum of 12 months to 1 ½ years in their preferred field of choice.

Moreover, all U.K universities now require students to undergo a work placement year. This is where students are required to work in a professional environment for one year inbetween their second and final year of the degree. Students can attain work placements at prestigious organizations in the U.K.

Scholarships offered by our U.K University Partners

U.K universities offer attractive scholarship schemes and bursaries to international students. Based on academic merit, Sri Lankan students can receive a bursary of £ 3,000 – 4,000. Additionally, our partner, University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN), offers a variety of scholarship options to Sri Lankan students, and students can receive a bursary of £ 2,500. UCLAN also provides international students who are interested in pursuing a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) a scholarship fund of £ 5,000 on the basis of academic standing.
