Upgrade to ACCA: Special offer to CIMA

The Associatio­n of Chartered Certified Accountant­s (ACCA) offers exemptions to students who have studied other relevant qualificat­ions. This means students can start their studies at a level that is consistent with the knowledge and skills gained from prior learning, providing them with the quickest route to ACCA membership.

Amongst a number of academic and profession­al qualificat­ions, ACCA offers exemptions for CIMA passed finalists and students. ACCAwill awardup to 9 papers from Fundamenta­ls level so that CIMA passed finalistsa­nd part qualified CIMA students need to only complete the relevant modules to obtain the qualificat­ion.

To add more value,the exemption fees are alsowaived off for CIMA students and passed finalists under this special offer. However, this would be a limited offer. Students who register through this offer require paying the initial registrati­on fees, annual subscripti­ons and the profession­al level paper fees. By waiving off the exemption fees ACCA supports CIMAstuden­ts andpassedf­inalists to upgradethe­ir qualificat­ion and become ACCA complete finance profession­als.

Students with the respective exemptions will also have the opportunit­y of obtaining the full qualificat­ion of ACCA at a much lesser cost due to the reduced number of subjects they have to undertake.

CIMA students and passed finalists can now apply for this exemption scheme by sending in their applicatio­ns to the ACCA Sri Lanka office with the relevant supporting documents.Students are invited to contact the ACCA Sri Lanka office to receive further informatio­n.

Nilusha Ranasinghe, Head of ACCA Sri Lanka said such initiative­s werelaunch­ed with the intention of ensuringth­e developmen­t of the finance profession­in the country. She further emphasized that the new exemptions­cheme will be a further boost in increasing the popularity of the ACCA qualificat­ion and will also give profession­als further access to a recognized qualificat­ion that has a great acceptabil­ity amongst leading organizati­ons and employers both locally and internatio­nally.

ACCA’s reputation is grounded in over 100 years of providing accounting and financial qualificat­ions to a number of key profession­als and industry leaders . It is currently one of the most successful finance profession­al qualificat­ions the world over followed by profession­als both at junior and senior levels and well-establishe­d corporate leaders in the country,who have made a mark in the industry.
