‘Inviting Future Management Leaders’ is the second seminar conducted by t he ANC Sch o o l of Hospitality and Tourism which aims to give a thorough insight about the major while giving a practical experience to the students. Since it is quite an interactive seminar, students will get a chance to clear their doubts about the industry or the major and spend quite an informative and exciting day. Students from leading international and government schools are welcome and agreed to attend this seminar and get a one-ofa-kind experience. In order to add more glamour to the seminar, three experienced personalities in the hospitality sector will address the audience. They are namely, Mr. Thilanka Muthukumarana – Director Sales and Marketing, Waters Edge, Mr. Sudusinghe Chandrasena, Deputy General Manager of Citrus Waskaduwa and Mr. Dhammike Gunatilake, Academic Head of ANC School of Hospitality and Tourism , Mr. Gishan Sumanasiri – AGM Degree Completion Programs – ANC Education, The above personalities will speak about sales and marketing, culinary arts, the role of a female in the hospitality industry by a female presenter and career planning and guidance will be the topics to be discussed at the seminar.

In today’s competitive environment many companies are looking beyond the traditional Business graduate to take their companies, products and services and to exceed revenue and profit expectations. It’s not a surprise that many world’s leading companies want their graduates to think creatively, solve problems and to contribute towards bottom-lines. In short they are looking for entrepreneurial talent among their new hires. Traditionally entrepreneurship was known as the “process of starting a business, a startup company or other organization through innovative or creative ideas”. This definition has broaden today to include some of the top careers such as CEO ( Chief Executive Officer), CFO (Chief Finance Officer), CMO ( Chief Marketing Officer), and Project and product specialists among many other positions where companies are looking for entrepreneurship talent. It’s true that a degree is not a must to become an entrepreneur and many people have launched successful businesses without a formal education. However, degree programs in entrepreneurship can help students learn more about accounting, ethics, economics, finance, marketing, management, and other business topics. In short degree programmes in entrepreneurship can shorten to learning curve towards success.
