Zone ‘C’remain unbeaten and favourites after three wins

RESULTS:

Zone ‘C’ recorded three wins in the U19 Zonal Quadrangul­ar limited over cricket tournament which is in progress now to remain unbeaten. In the first match they beat Zone ‘D’ by three wickets and then followed it up with a 27 runs win against Zone ‘A’ before overcoming Zone ‘B’ by five wickets on the Duckworth/Lewis method.

Earlier, Zone ‘A’ overcame Zone ‘B’ by 129 runs and then posted their second win with a four wickets win against Zone ‘ D’ while Zone ‘B’ got the better of Zone ‘D’ the only team that has not been able to chalk up a win yet. There were some fine batting performanc­es with Kavin Bandara of DSS making a knock of 130 which incidental­ly is the highest individual knock of the tournament so far while Salinda Ushan of Isipathana and Risith Upamal of Dharmaloka MV Kelaniya were unfortunat­e to miss out making a ton by one run.
