Ceylinco VIP provides Rs. 4 mln emergency hospitalisation cover
Ceylinco Insurance will be making another breakthrough in motor insurance by providing Rs. 4 million emergency hospitalisation insurance cover free of charge for its Ceylinco VIP ‘ On the Spot’ customers. Chief Executive Officer of Ceylinco General Insurance Ltd, Ajith Gunawardena told a media conference in Colombo this week.
This will include an insurance cover of Rs. 1.3 million for Hospitalisation expenses in the event of a road traffic accident within Sri Lanka and for followup treatment overseas where necessary.
Further in the event of a policy holder travelling overseas, he or she will be entitled to a hospitalisation cover for medical emergencies up to Rs. 1.3 million and Rs 2.6 million for hospitalisation expenses for accidents up to 15 days per trip.
Overseas travellers will be entitled to a Personal Accident Cover of Rs 1.3 million inclusive of Death and Permanent disablement. Whilst overseas, partial permanent disablements will be covered up to Rs. 650,000. These benefits will be applicable to comprehensive policy holders of Ceylinco VIP ‘ On the Spot’ who have insured their cars, vans, Jeeps, double cabs, buses and lorries, Mr. Gunawardena said.
Similarly, comprehensive Motor Cycle policy holders will be entitled to a hospitalisation cover of Rs. 300,000 in the event of a road traffic accident within Sri Lanka and the benefits applicable for vehicles in the event of overseas travelling.
Third party customers too will benefit with a cover of Rs. 200,000 for hospitalisation in the event of a road traffic accident within Sri Lanka for vehicles and Rs. 100,000 for motor cycles, he added.
The insurance cover will be valid for new policies whilst existing policy holders will be entitled for this new benefit from the date of their next renewal. In the case of individual customers the insured will be entitled to this benefit whilst for corporate customers or fleet owners.
