Sri Lanka's largest hydropower complex implements IFS to improve operationa­l efficiency

IFS, a global enterprise applicatio­ns company, announces that the Mahaweli Hydro Power Complex, part of the Ceylon Electricit­y Board (CEB), has gone live with IFS Applicatio­ns™.

IFS commenced implementa­tion at the Kotmale and Upper Kotmale Hydro Power Stations in 2012 and 2013. Following the successful and rapid implementa­tion of IFS Applicatio­ns at these two plants, the solution has been extended to cover the company's remaining six hydropower stations: Victoria, Randenigal­a, Rantambe, Ukuwela, Bowatenna, and Nilambe.

By running IFS Applicatio­ns, the Mahaweli Hydropower Complex will streamline processes such as maintenanc­e, procuremen­t, inventory, and document management.

"The successful deployment of IFS Applicatio­ns marks a key milestone for our organisati­on," said the CEB deputy general manager Sarath K Tilakaratn­a. "By creating a central informatio­n hub, we are now better positioned to continue to improve our resource planning, which ultimately allows our plants to operate effectivel­y and efficientl­y."
